BottomScanner/FAQ

Q0: I have a n00b question
A0: No you don't, a noob question is a question not asked.
Q1: BottomScanner isn't finding many/any hits. What is going wrong?
A1: Check out our BottomScanner Debugging checklist and Tuning down BottomScanner guides.
Q2: Can I have Bottom Scanner look at a specific category of items instead of just the last few pages?
A2: Yes. Start Bottom Scanner, then go the Search tab. Now you have two options.
- Select the categories of items you want to search, then hit the scan button.
- Select your category and any other search filters you wish such as item level and rarity, then click the Search button.
Since Bottom Scanner is already running, it will search for bargains amongst whatever items get returned by the scan/search. Note that, if you choose the second option, if there are multiple pages in the search results, you will need to click to the next page before Bottom Scanner attempts to jump back to the last few pages again. The forward arrow will be disabled for the first 5 seconds, but you will have another 5 seconds to click it before Bottom Scanner reverts to its normal behavior. Just keep clicking the forward arrow when it is enabled and you can scan whatever you wish this way.
Q3: Can I run Bottom Scanner while Auctioneer does a complete scan of the Auction House?
A3: Yes. The caveat is that Bottom Scanner will use the prices in the historical database for comparison, and not the prices in the current scan. If you'd like, you can first run a complete AH scan (which will update the snapshot and your price statistics), then start Bottom Scanner and run another AH scan (which will search for bargains using the now-current price statistics).
